The Goal of P4L
Did you know that 59% of managers who oversee one to two employees have never received formal leadership training; 41% of managers who oversee three to five employees claim the same. Leadership issues cause 63% of U.S. companies to need help with retaining employees and 77% of companies say they lack strong leadership skills with their current leaders.
With our fast-paced world and the immediate needs in the workplace, managers and leaders are often placed in their positions mostly based on a particular job skill set they have become an expert in and they are loyal hardworking employees. They are mostly promoted from within and put in charge with little to no leadership development training. Soon it is discovered that there are some skill sets missing, and these skill sets fall under the broad term of leadership such as effective communication, building trust, and creating a positive work environment to name a few. Strong leadership requires a person to have a growth mindset by being introspective and open to identifying their own strengths and weaknesses. Unfortunately, most companies rarely invest in leadership development and only focus on the training for specific skills needed for the department. Basically, companies are placing people in vacant leadership roles immediately without fully equipping the person to lead and influence others.
After 30 years as a public educator 18 of those years as a school principal and assistant principal and 6 years as the Director of Human Resources for over 6400+ employees I have had the honor to develop, mentor and coach many people who took the next steps to lead and manage people successfully.
My company Principals4Leadership develops and coaches employees toward successful leadership and management by influencing and inspiring others. I focus on leadership lessons from the inside out that will last someone a lifetime.
Managing and leading is hard work and we often promote people to leadership positions and then let them sink or swim on their own. Some drown; some survive. A company should provide a safe, supportive place for leaders to grow and be successful. I can provide this for you with a strategic plan and curriculum that we design together based on your companies' needs. I can provide one on one coaching and small to large group professional leadership development that is goal oriented for all levels managers and leaders.
I look forward to providing you and your most valuable asset, your people, Leadership Lessons from the Inside Out.
Respectfully,
Wendy L. Mungillo, M.Ed., PHR
